Wii U finally getting a price cut
The Wii U is about to get a bit more affordable, though whether it will…
What appears to be a Nintendo Switch running some sort of test software has turned up online.
Reddit user boondar143 claims to have purchased the console online from Best Buy on Cyber Monday. When he went to set it up for his family, he discovered the device loaded to an odd looking menu screen. On it included options for board and wireless testing. Suggesting that whomever had done quality control at the factor had forgotten to remove the test tools and install the OS.
Apparently this isn’t the first example of a Switch shipping without its system software. Other members of the unofficial Nintendo Switch subreddit allege that several have appeared in the wild this year alone. However, this is our first time seeing one.
This system has caught the eye of members of the homebrew community. The test software could help developers learn more about the Switch’s hardware and software. Boondar says he is keeping this Switch for now, and is working with someone in the community who will put it to good use.
