Windows 10 will stream your XBone
Microsoft’s deceptively named Windows 10 is coming soon, and it will let you stream Xbox One games to your desktop.
Xbox and PC have long existed as two separate entities. The new Xbox app seeks to change that by connecting Windows to Xbox Live. You’ll be able to view your achievements, chat with friends, and even fire up some cross-platform multiplayer. Something which has been a long time coming.
You’ll also be able to stream your Xbox One games to PC, and presumably any other Windows 10 device. It’s a similar concept to what Sony has done with the PS4, though without locking gamers in to proprietary hardware.
“Over the last 13 years, Xbox has been focused on creating and expanding great gaming and entertainment experiences on console,” Xbox head Phil Spencer told media.
“Now, we are also bringing that same focus, passion, and commitment to gaming on Windows 10, enhancing the PC games and gaming devices you already love, including the Xbox One.”
Adding to that, Windows 10 will introduce a Game DVR, which will allow you to record, edit, and share your gameplay on both PC and Xbox One.
DirectX 12 is also in the pipeline, which the company promises will allow for faster, more detailed games.
Windows 10 will be coming to Xbox One and PC sometime later this year.
