Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata is refuting claims that the company is working with Netflix to produce a Zelda TV series.
The Wall Street Journal had reported last month that the streaming giant was developing a live-action show based on the longtime game franchise.
Speaking with TIME, Iwata dismissed the story as inaccurate.
“As of now, I have nothing new to share with you in regard to the use of our IPs for any TV shows or films, but I can at least confirm that the article in question is not based on correct information.”
That doesn’t necessarily mean Nintendo has no plans to bring their most popular characters to the small screen. The company is notorious for playing their cards close to their chest. We’ll just have to wait and see.
