Netflix making Legend of Zelda TV series
Well excuse me Princess. Netflix is looking to make a live action Legend of Zelda TV series.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, an unnamed source claims the show is still in the early stages of development. It will naturally feature Link setting out on an adventure across Hyrule to rescue Zelda. However, creators are billing it as family friendly Game of Thrones. So hopefully we’ll be getting some intrigue with our dragons, thankfully without Link’s little Master Sword.
Nintendo has rarely allowed TV and film adaptations for its franchises. However, Zelda did get a short lived cartoon back in the 80s as part of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. We’re still glad Nintendo kept Link as a silent character.
Neither Netflix or Nintendo have officially confirmed the show’s existence. There’s no word on when the Zelda TV series will be released.
