Sonic Boom sucks. It’s considered one of the worst games of 2014, and perhaps even worse than Sonic ’06. Now Sega is looking to fix that, or rather put some lipstick on the pig with huge 1GB patch.
There’s no official release notes to go along with the update. However, European gamers have noticed some fixes. Destructiod notes the hilarious Knuckles jump has been fixed. Improvements to frame rates, lighting, and a better navigation system have also been added.
It took quite some time to get the fix out. Long enough for the damage to have been done.
Of course, given the Wii U’s limited internal storage, big patches like this are pretty inexcusable. Especially when the game should have been done right the first time. Hopefully Nintendo doesn’t allow this to become a trend.
