Sonic 4: Episode II Demo Review
Sonic the Hedgehog is a sore spot for many gamers. Year after year, Sega has…
For sale, one slightly used copy of ET on the Atari 2600. Minor wear and tear.
You may remember a couple months ago that Microsoft paid to have a New Mexico landfill dug up. It was all part of a documentary to see if Atari really did bury unsold cartridges of their infamous flop. Well they found them, and now they’re up for sale on eBay.
One copy of ET is already going for over $500 with 14 bids at the time of writing, though some of the more tattered versions can be had for as low as $50.
ET isn’t the only game either. Slightly crushed copies of Missile Command and Asteroids were found as well. They can be had for much less money, which is ironic, since they were actually good games. There’s 100 in total up for sale.
According to Wired, the local historical society still has at least another 750 games they plan to sell. So don’t feel pressured to sell your first born for a dusty copy of a terrible game.
